Tyrannosaurus REX
Eats through your bones with one little SNAP,
Juggles your head for a moment in its tiny arms (bigger than your thighs),
Catches it on the tip of its tongue,
Swallows it with contented SIGHS.
Tyrannosaurus Rex hops onto a log,
Balances for a moment,
Sneezes, wipes its nose on a passing ant-eater,
Wonders about the future …
Will there be spaceships?
Vacuum-packed and liquidised humans?
How will it fit into a spacesuit?
When it travels to the stars,
Will other races see it as some sort of weird ALIEN?
Tyrannosaurus Rex laughs,
The very idea!
An Alien indeed!
Aliens have lots of teeth,
Eat everything that moves
And are indestructible MONSTERS!
Tyrannosaurus Rex smiles to himself,
Thinks of his children,
Wonders who’s done the washing up,
Bites a Pterodactyl in half
And then saunters home, humming.
