The Stairs
Came alive,
Slipped
Into that puddle of dark
At the bottom,
Emerged,
Glistening and unexpected,
A trap to be sprung,
A naked smile in a well of walls
Best at night time
When the creaks have opened your ears,
The doors have eyes,
The Silence is listening,
The Hands are out,
The Monster waits,
SNAPPING,
The ghosts are invisible
The back tingles
Fear emerges
Thoughts are taken
Hijacked
Corrupted
The spirit wilts,
The Brain screams
‘Die! Die!’
The brain screams
‘Die! Die!’
Evil looms,
The Film replays,
The kitchen groans,
The story,
SHOUTS!
The story
SHOUTS!
The memories
Half-felt
Half-thought
Crowd into dreams
Half-remembered,
Remembered,
Suppressed.
The world presses in,
Ears hum like electric cables,
Eyes see nothing,
Eyes see nothing,
Body feels
STRANGE!
all around …
Body feels
STRANGE!
all around …
The body feels
STRANGE! – ………
